Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about OhmMy.

What devices does OhmMy support?

+

OhmMy supports a wide range of solar inverters, home batteries, and EV chargers, including Tesla Powerwall, GivEnergy, SolarEdge, SolaxCloud, MyEnergi (Zappi, Eddi, Libbi), and Sigenergy SigenStor. For energy tariffs, we support Octopus Energy, EDF Energy, and E.ON Next. We are continuously adding new integrations — check the Integration Guides in the docs for the full current list.

Is my data secure?

+

Yes. All credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before being stored — this includes API keys, account passwords (used by integrations such as E.ON Next and Sigenergy), and OAuth tokens (used by Tesla). We never store credentials in plain text and they are never visible to OhmMy staff. Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in secure, EU-based data centres.

How often does OhmMy update data?

+

Update frequency varies by integration. Tesla and GivEnergy update every 5 seconds for real-time monitoring. SolarEdge syncs every 15 minutes due to API rate limits. Sigenergy refreshes approximately every 5 minutes in line with their cloud API limits. Tariff data for Octopus Agile and EDF FreePhase Dynamic updates half-hourly as new prices are published.

Can OhmMy control my devices?

+

Control features are available for some integrations. Tesla Powerwall, GivEnergy, and MyEnergi devices support control features like setting charge schedules and battery reserves. SolarEdge, SolaxCloud, and Sigenergy are currently monitoring-only — control is not available via their cloud APIs.

What happens if I have multiple energy systems?

+

OhmMy supports connecting multiple devices and systems. Your dashboard will show aggregated data from all sources, and you can view each device individually in the Devices section.

Do I need a smart meter?

+

A smart meter is not required but is recommended for the best experience. With Octopus Energy integration, smart meter data can provide more accurate consumption tracking and cost calculations.

How do I disconnect an integration?

+

Go to Settings > Integrations, find the integration you want to remove, and click "Disconnect". This will remove the connection from OhmMy. For OAuth integrations like Tesla, you may also want to revoke access from your Tesla account settings.

Is there a mobile app?

+

OhmMy is a web application that works on any device with a browser. It's designed to be fully responsive and works great on mobile phones and tablets. You can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

What tariffs does OhmMy support?

+

OhmMy supports tariffs from multiple energy providers. For Octopus Energy: Agile, Go, Intelligent Go, Flux, Cosy, Tracker, and standard fixed tariffs. For EDF Energy: FreePhase Dynamic (half-hourly pricing), Standard Variable, EV tariffs, and fixed tariffs. For E.ON Next: Next Drive (EV off-peak), and standard fixed tariffs. The system automatically detects your tariff type when you connect your account.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

+

You can report bugs or request features by emailing support@ohmmy.energy or using the feedback option in Settings. We actively review all feedback and prioritize based on user demand.
