Dashboard Overview

Your OhmMy dashboard is the central view of your home energy system. This guide explains every section and what to expect once your devices are connected.

Quick Setup Checklist

If your account is newly created or you haven't connected everything yet, the dashboard will show a Quick Setup checklist with two steps:

  • Connect Energy Provider

Link your energy tariff (Octopus Energy, EDF Energy, or E.ON Next) so OhmMy can fetch your rates. Click Connect → to go directly to Settings.

  • Connect Battery or Solar

Add at least one device (battery, solar, or EV charger) to unlock the live monitoring section.

Once both steps are complete, the checklist disappears and your full dashboard is displayed.

Cost Savings Summary

At the top of your live dashboard is a Cost Savings banner showing how much OhmMy has saved you through optimized charging and discharging. This figure is calculated by comparing your actual energy spend against what you would have paid without smart scheduling.

Live Monitoring

The Live Monitoring section updates in real time and is divided into three rows of widgets. Only widgets relevant to your connected devices will appear.

Row 1 — Device Widgets

🔋

Battery Widget

Shows your battery's current state of charge (%), live charge or discharge rate in watts, and whether it is charging, discharging, or idle. Visible when a battery device is connected (GivEnergy, Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy, etc.).

☀️

Solar Widget

Displays current solar generation in watts and today's total generation in kWh. Visible when a solar device is connected (SolarEdge, SolaxCloud, GivEnergy, Sigenergy, etc.).

🚗

EV Charger Widget

Shows whether a vehicle is connected, current charging rate in watts, and session energy delivered. Visible when an EV charger is connected (MyEnergi Zappi, GivEnergy EV charger, Sigenergy EV charger, etc.).

🌡️

Solar Diverter Widget

Displays the status of a solar diverter (such as the MyEnergi Eddi), showing current divert power and total diverted energy today. Visible when a load device is connected.

Row 2 — Analytics Widgets

Energy Flow Visualisation

A real-time diagram showing the flow of power between your solar panels, battery, home, and the grid. At a glance you can see whether you are importing from or exporting to the grid, how much solar is being self-consumed, and the current battery state.

📈

Solar Forecast Widget

Shows a forecast of expected solar generation for today and tomorrow, powered by Solcast. This forecast is used by the optimisation engine when deciding when to charge the battery — if high generation is expected, charging from the grid will be reduced. Requires a Solcast API key configured in Settings → Optimisation.

Row 3 — Context Widgets

🌤️

Weather Widget

Displays local weather conditions and a short-range forecast. Cloud cover and expected sunshine are used alongside solar forecasts to improve generation predictions. Accuracy improves when you have set your postcode in Settings → Optimisation.

🇬🇧

UK Energy Mix Widget

Shows the current UK national electricity grid mix — what percentage is coming from wind, solar, nuclear, gas, and other sources. This is used by the carbon optimisation mode to time battery usage when the grid is at its greenest.

Optimisation Schedule

Below the live widgets, the Optimisation Schedule section appears when a battery device is connected. It shows the upcoming charge and discharge schedule that OhmMy has planned based on your tariff rates and solar forecast.

  • The schedule is automatically recalculated twice a day (1am and 1pm).
  • You can also trigger a manual recalculation at any time using the Run Optimisation button.
  • Planned charge windows are shown in green; discharge windows in amber.
  • Your minimum battery reserve (set in Settings → Optimisation) will always be respected.

The optimisation schedule is only available for devices that support remote control (GivEnergy, Tesla Powerwall). For read-only devices such as Sigenergy and SolarEdge, the schedule is advisory only.

Historical Data

At the bottom of the dashboard, the Historical Data section provides charts and graphs of your past energy activity. You can filter by date range to explore trends over time.

  • Solar generation — daily and cumulative kWh output from your solar panels.
  • Battery activity — charge and discharge cycles, showing when the battery was used and how much energy moved.
  • Grid import and export — how much energy you bought from and sold back to the grid over the selected period.

Historical data is available from the date your device was first connected to OhmMy.

Your Data is Secure

At the very bottom of the dashboard is a reminder of OhmMy's security commitments. All API keys and credentials are encrypted with AES-256, your data is completely isolated from other users, and you can disconnect any integration at any time from Settings.

The Manage Integrations → button takes you directly to Settings where you can add, update, or remove connections.
